A peaceful resolution has been reached in Houston after an intense day.
It started when Houston RCMP recived a call of a distraught woman in a residence in the 2200 block of Tweedie Avenue earlier today.
When officers attended, they learned the individual inside may be in possession of a firearm.
For police and public safety, the Prince George Emergency Response Team and 2 negotiators were called in to assist the Houston RCMP in this situation as police were very concerned for the woman’s well-being.
Cpl Dave Tyreman says this incident was very dynamic and the efforts focused on bringing this matter to a peaceful resolution for all involved.
The woman has been safely taken into custody by police and is being attended to by medical personnel.
The RCMP would like to thank the Houston public for their respect and patience while they were able to bring this situation to a positive resolution.
