Hawkair has issued a warning about a phone scam involving the company name.
A post on the airline’s Facebook page warns people that phone scams claiming the person has won a free Hawkair flight are being reported.
According to Hawkair after announcing that the caller has won a free flight the scammer then asks the victim for their credit card information.
The company says it is not affiliated with the fraudulent calls and wouldn’t request credit card information for winning gift certificates.
Hawkair says anyone who may be a victim of the scam should call the RCMP.
