NLWS caring for many orphaned bear cubs over the winter

The Northern Lights Wildlife Shelter near Smithers will be feeding  a large number of orphan baby bears over the winter.
Shelter owner, Angelika Langen says they currently have 31 cubs in their care with possibly a few more on their way.
“We’ve had those numbers before but they are usually split up, where half of them going to sleep,” she says. “That isn’t the case this year, everyone came in really late and really underweight so, expect for 8, we will be feeding them through the winter.”
Langen says they have just received a large truck load of their wish list items from Terrace and there is another load coming from Prince George to help care for the bears.
She says the struggle will be to keep donations flowing through the entire season.
