BC Hydro is planning on turning off the power for an hour tomorrow afternoon.
Smithers, Telkwa and west to Kitwanga will be affected from 2-3 pm.
Community relations coordinator Dave Mosure says
during another job, crews discovered some insulators on the transmission line were damaged and need to be replaced.
“We greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding during this,” he says. Â “It is defiantly not something we had planned and it is always disappointing when we find, what we suspect to be a vandalism situation and it needs to be addressed immediately.”
To prepare for the outage, turn off lights, unplug electronics and appliances.
Once the power comes back on, BC Hydro is asking that you only plug in what you need so the system does not get overloaded.
