Search continues for a missing Smithers cyclist

The childhood friend of the Smithers man that went missing on a bicycle trip to Vancouver Island is asking for help from the public.

Police says 45-year-old Sean Kuntz was last heard from last Tuesday when he was in the Quesnel and Williams Lake area.

His friend Scott Rowsell says Kuntz is known for being adventurous.

“And since Sean does have an adventurous nature there’s many different paths that he could have taken throughout the province. So it is important that we get eyes out looking for Sean in as many places as we can,” says Rowsell.

He says any sightings will help them to focus their search efforts.

Kuntz is described as Caucasian, 5 11, well built with dark eyes, dark hair and is missing half of his thumb.

Rouw-sell says Kuntz is riding a grew Kona Mountain Bike, has a large blue dry bag, black helmet and a black backpack.

Anyone who sees him is asked to contact the RCMP.
