BC Hydro is busy trying to restore power to about a hundred homes in Takla Landing.
The power has been out since Friday evening.
Community relations coordinator Dave Mosure says it’s because of trees on the line.
“The crews are heavily hampered right now with the weather,” he says. “It is preventing helicopters from flying and the access into that line system is very difficult at best. They are exploring other options right now, whether that be snowmobiles or snowshoes — whatever they can use to get in there.”
Mosure says so far crews have removed about 20 trees but there are about another dozen that need to be dealt with.
BC Hydro is hoping to have power restored by 6 pm tonight.
