Burns Lake resident collects supplies for wildfire evacuees

A Burns Lake resident is driving a trailer load of goods down to Prince George to help wildfire evacuees in need.

Charles Rensby says things like livestock feed will be useful to those that had to evacuate, especially those from the ‘horse centre’ of the province.

“So they’re going to need feed for their animals if they still have animals. I’m just trying to help in any way possible…you know, we were just a lightning strike away from being in the same boat. So I’m sure we would want them to help us, too.”

Rensby says he’ll be bringing anything that people might need and says several churches in the city are willing to distribute the supplies where needed.

“Anything from farm supplies from seed to toothbrushes, food…and everything in between.”

With supplies from Houston and the Burns Lake area, Rensby planned to hit the road last night.
