Air Quality Advisory and Open Burning Restrictions for Houston

An Air Quality Advisory and Open Burning Restrictions has been issued for Houston.
Air Quality Meteorologist, Barry Watson says there are high concentrations of fine particulates which are expected to persist because of the weather.
“There are low winds and stagnant conditions across the interior of B.C. and I think it will last for the next couple of days,” he says.
Open burning restrictions are in effect for Houston and within 10 kilometres of the Houston Town Hall for a period of 3 days. No new outdoor fires may be initiated and no additional material may be added to existing fires. Persons with chronic underlying medical conditions should postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted. Staying indoors can help to reduce fine particulate exposure.
