Sports teams from Houston Secondary School have been out collecting items for the food hamper program.
Teacher Ted Beck says students canvassed for cans last night.
“We had members of the girls’ rugby team and some from basketball teams,” he says. “It was a cold night going around the community but the kids were great and as usual, Houston responded wonderfully.”
Beck says they weren’t able to get to all the homes in Houston so if anyone still wants to donate, non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the thrift store beside Pharmasave.
