Stikine MLA Doug Donaldson appointed Minister of Forests and Rural Development

After being sworn in today, Stikine MLA Doug Donaldson will now be the Minister of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources Operations and Rural Development.

Donaldson spoke to The Moose in June about the softwood lumber file being an immediate priority of the new government.

“During the election, John Horgan made it a commitment to get right on the softwood file by making a trip to Washington….we want to be front and centre in the people’s mind in the United States that are making these decisions,” said Donaldson.

“That file has just been left to drift for many, many months now.”

Donaldson will also be dealing with the state of emergency due to wildfires raging across the province.
