Alleged thief fails to cover his tracks

A liquor store is the latest victim of the recent break and enters in Smithers.
RCMP received a call of an intrusion alarm from the Liquor Warehouse on Queen Street on Saturday around 4:30 am.
Police saw footprints in the freshly fallen snow, exiting the rear door.
The officers followed the tracks to a residence in the 4100 block of Second Avenue.
After questioning people the neighbourhood, police identified a suspect.
An 18 year old man will appear in court in the new year.
The majority of the stolen liquor, over $800 worth, was recovered.
Police do not think this incident is connected to the other break-ins that have occurred recently in and around town.
