It’s been a busy year for Smithers town council, according to it’s mayor.
Taylor Bachrach says they’veĀ helped tackle two large projects in 2014.
“One is the arena, and that has been a big dream for a lot of folks– wonderful to see that come to completion,” he says. “The second one is curbside recycling. This is a new service for our community that was brought in earlier this spring and I think it has been well received by our community.”
He adds it was a banner year for private investments in Smithers as well.
Bachrach says next year,Ā he hopes toĀ help back a supportive housing project that the Smithers Action Group has been working on, see the newĀ dog park come to life and make improvements to the Chandler Park field.
