This week Moose FM is partnering with sponsors to raise food for local food banks.
Staff will be at locations through out the Bulkley Valley and Lakes Districts collecting non-perishable food items that will stay in the community they are collected.
Donations will be accepted in Hazelton at BVCU today; at the Burns Lake branch on tomorrow; in Smithers at Safeway on Thursday and Friday and on Saturday in Houston.
Lakes District Food Bank Coordinator, Candice Little says donations go along way.
“The last food bank day, which was last week, we handed out 95 boxes of food. In those families, there is a total of 305 people that are being fed from those boxes,” she says.
Moose FM is hoping to raise $125,000 in food and cash donations during the week long ‘Stuff the Truck’ event.
A pair of Hawkair tickets will also be raffled off at the end of the week.
