The inaugural meeting of Smithers council is tonight.
The mayor and council will be sworn in at 6 p.m. at a special ceremony where outgoing councillors will also be recognized.
The regular meeting of council will kick off at 7:30 with a public hearing.
Residents can voice their concerns about changing the zoning of a property on Columbia Street.
Also on the agenda, staff will recommend purchasing a new runway sweeper for the aiport, a resident will request Rosenthal Road be paved and council will discuss changing the fee structure for fitness groups that use town parks.
This will be the only meeting this month because of the holidays.
The regular schedule commences in January.
