The NDP MLA for Stikine says it has been an eventful year for his riding.
Doug Donaldson says he has been busy trying to keep the BC Liberals in check with their LNG plans.
“One item that sticks in my mind from this past year in the legislature is when I was able to get up in the question period and high-lite the fact that vulnerable Wet’Suwet’en children were being used as pawn and almost black mail for the BC Liberals to get their way with LNG and pipeline agreements with hereditary chiefs,” he says.
Donaldson says he was happy this year to see his suggestion for new standards for Highway 16 winter road maintenance to put through.
Next year, he plans on keeping the focus on creating a bus service in the north, and pushing for more youth mental health services in the region.
