Moose FM and the Bulkley Valley Credit Union have raised approximately $45,000 dollars worth of cash and cans for local food banks.
The money and food donated stayed in Bulkley Valley and Lakes District communities they were given.
Lakes District Food Bank volunteer Susan Schienbein says more came in than expected.

“Everybody at the food bank was pleasantly surprised,” she says. “Especially with the amount of cash donations which is critically to us to be able to purchase fresh vegetables, fruit, meat and dairy products to give to our clients.”
The Salvation Army in Houston was given enough non-perishables that for the first time, they won’t have to purchase any food for their Christmas Hamper program.
