Smithers RCMP say they received a complaint about someone being defrauded $4,000 through an alleged Facebook scam.
Police say a person online was portraying themselves as someone’s friend, where the victim provided personal information and was subsequently defrauded.
Police say they received the complaint last Wednesday and are encouraging people to be cautious when providing personal information online.
