Christmas hamper program wrapping up this week

The Christmas Hamper program is wrapping up again for another season.
About half of the hampers have been delivered and the other half will go out on Saturday.
Coordinator  Dawn Hanson says about a thousand people in the Bulkley Valley will get some food and presents for Christmas.
“We’ve built approximately 310 hampers,” she says. “We also put together 15 cloth bag hampers for people who don’t have a home. We included warm clothes and food that is a bit easy to eat, you don’t have to have cooking facilities.”
Hanson says this is on par with what was sent out last year.
The depot could still use some peanut butter, oatmeal, cereal and cheese whiz. Donations need to be dropped off before tomorrow afternoon at the depot on the corner of Main and Fourth.
