Destination BC has named Smithers as one of the top six mountain towns in the province.
Chosen for its backcountry wilderness adventure and music festivals, Destination BC says the town also has easy access to steelhead fishing, hiking and skiing.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach says making the list is good news for the town’s tourism efforts.
“Certainly, we’re in good company with some other great BC mountain towns; Ferine, Whistler and others. And I think it shows that our brand is getting stronger and stronger as a recreation and lifestyle destination,” says Bachrach.
