A local tree removal company has come up with a way for residents to get rid of their Christmas trees and raise money for charity.
Dane Drzimotta of Sitka Tree Service says they are hosting the second annual tree shed on Saturday.
“We’ll take your Christmas tree and run it through our chipper which basically just eats trees,” he says. “For us to dispose of your trees, we will take a donation for the Smithers Action Group, and they help find solutions for the homeless.”
People can either drop their trees off at McBike, Rayz or Nature’s Pantry from now until Friday evening or bring the tree to the event on Saturday at Bovill Square and watch it go through the chipper.
The event starts at 10 am and there will also be raffles and a BBQ.
