A former Hazelton resident has been identified as the man who died following a police incident in Surrey on Sunday.
23 year old Naverone Christian Landon Woods was originally from the northwest but was staying in Surrey.
The BC Coroner’s Service says he was shot during an encounter with South Coast BC Transit Authority police at a Safeway.
He was transported to hospital but died soon after arriving.
Woods’ family has been notified and The BC Coroners Service and the Independent Investigations Office continue to investigate this death.
