Moricetown is making some garbage collection changes.
Starting next week, there will be no more Wednesday trash pick-up with all scheduled pick-ups moving ahead one day.
Residents will also have to separate more recyclable and salvageable material out of their garbage as a part of the changes
The Regional District of Kitimat Stikine says those materials can be taken to diversion depots in Hazelton and Kitwanga.
The Hazelton Waste Management Facility – formerly the Hazelton landfill – has changed its hours to reduce operational costs.
As of Tuesday this week, they’re open five days a week from 12 to 7 p.m. except for Tuesday and Wednesday.
