The second annual tree shred in Smithers has been deemed a success.
Owner of Sitka Tree Service, Dane Drzimotta says about 70 Christmas trees went through the chipper and about a thousand dollars was raised for charity.
He adds they had way more people come out on Saturday than last year.
“If it was warmer, it would have been better,” he says. “Minus 13 put a bit of damper on it but it was still a great success.”
All the money raised is going to the Smithers Action Group.
