Local search effort continues to find Frances Brown

A crew of about 10 people are still searching for Frances Brown in the backcountry near Moricetown.

Search and Rescue crews from across the province and RCMP pulled out of the search Saturday evening after spending a week looking for Brown.

Executive Director with the band Lucy Gagnon says their Fire Chief Desmond Mckinnon is leading the search.

She says the area Brown is believed to be missing on is dense forest which makes the search effort more difficult.

53-year-old Brown has been missing for over a week after she lost her cousin while mushroom picking in the Kitsegeucla Lake Road area.

The search has been called one of the largest in northern BC in the last decade. 21 different search and rescue teams from across the province assisted including a helicopter, dog handler and trackers.
