Fisherman fined

A Prince Rupert skipper has been fined $3,000 and been forced to forfeit a Chinook catch worth almost $11,000.
The commercial fisherman has recently plead guilty to a serious of violations of the Fisheries Act in a Prince Rupert provincial court room.
Michael Andrew Bullock was charged after he contravened the conditions of his licence by not having his catch validated by an observer when off-loading on June 26 2014.
Fisheries and Ocean Canada says catch validation is mandatory in the area he was in and it must be performed dockside by an approved service provider.
