City Staff hoping To Fix Rosenthal Road Before Snow Arrives

Smithers city councillors are hoping for good weather so repairs can be made to Rosenthal road.

The city wants to start the $375,000 restoration to the area near Perimeter Trail before snow starts to fall.

The slope above the trail partially collapsed back in May at a structure meant to stabilize the road after heavy rain.

The whole project is expected to take five weeks, that includes clearing vegetation, removal of existing slope and replacing the area.

Work is expected to start November 6th and hopefully finish by December 8th.

The Perimeter Trail below the slope is closed and part of the project would be to re-build it at the toe of the slope when restorations is done.
