The Smithers RCMP Staff Sgt is leaving.
Kirsten Marshall said farewell at last night’s council meeting saying she was grateful to the community and has enjoyed her time here.
She also mentioned that she hasn’t been replaced yet.
“Corporal Dean Klubi will be taking over in the interm,” she says. “With my position, the initial go around collapased in November because candidates got picked for other jobs so there wasn’t anyone left so they had to start again.”
Marshall also gave an update on some of the intitives the RCMP has busy with, including trying to reduce domestic violence cases.
Her last day will be in two weeks.
She has been in Smithers for 5 and a half years.
