A draft by-law about fireworks has been presented at the last Telkwa council meeting.
Mayor Darcy Repen says this will help to regulate the sale, possession and use of fireworks, fire crackers and explosives.
“It is obviously a fire and safety hazard issue for the community,” he says. “So we want to regulate to ensure we aren’t leaving the village or the community susceptible to unnecessary fire or personal injury.”
The by-law is expected to get first and second reading at the second council meeting scheduled for January 26th.
