School district 54 meets tonight.
The board will discuss ongoing initiatives such as how the first millright program in the district went.
It’s wrapping upĀ at Houston Secondary and the shop will soon be turned into Ā a training centre for the electrical program.
Other initiatives include the expansion of the hockey academy to the grade 6/7 level because of the new ice rink that has opened in Smithers.
The carbon neutral by-law will also be discussed.
The district has been undertaking projects to reduce costs and carbon emissions for some time such as improving bus routes.
The meeting starts at 7 pm tonight at the school board office in Smithers.
