A candle light vigil will be held on Sunday to remember a man who was murdered in Smithers a year ago.
Martina Namox says she wants to invite people to come out to remember and honour her son Francis.
“This candle light vigil will only happen once,” she says. “I don’t want it to happen again every year because I want people to let him go and have some peace of mind. I just want him to be remembered as a loving father, son and friend.”
The 26 year old was stabbed and killed on the night of February 7 2014 in an apartment building.
The vigil will be held near where he was murdered in the 1500 block of Main Street starting at 3 p.m.
A charge of second degree murder has been laid against one man in connection with his death.
His trial starts in June.
