Two Smithers men have been arrested in connection to a large drug bust in Calgary.
Police have seized millions of dollars worth of cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs.
Mike Tucker, Communications Manager with the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team says this was very significant drug seizure.
“This is part of a year long investigation into an organized crime group that was operating out of Calgary but our information suggests was distributing drugs province wide,” he says. “And apparently by the two Smithers’ arrests had some tentacles in British Columbia as well.”
He adds, along with the drugs, cash, high-end luxury vehicles and a variety of weapons were also discovered.
27 year old Dennis Ross and 31 year old Todd Champan both from Smithers, are two of the 12 people facing various charges.
