It’s Chamber of Commerce Week across the province.
Manager of the Smithers and District Branch, Heather Gallagher says the purpose is to celebrate and promote what they do.
“Businesses, when they join organizations like this, they have a bigger opportunity for policy development and changing legislation for more business friendly legislation at the government level,” she says. “And lots of chamber programs, services and benefits.”
There are 223 members of the local chapter, which Gallagher says is over 50 per cent of the businesses in Smithers and Telkwa.
