Bill to ban oil tankers on the north coast coming up for debate

Nathan Cullen’s bill to ban oil tankers on the north coast is coming up for debate in Ottawa soon.
The MP for Skeena Bulkley Valley introduced the bill in the House of Commons in September and has been spending time recently touring communities across B.C. to get feedback on it.
He says he’s received support from the Green Party and the Liberals.
“Now we are focusing our attention on the 10 or so Conservative MPs that we need to support it,” he says. “In their ridings, because I’ve been in many of their ridings on the island and the Sunshine Coast, there has been an incredible amount of support.”
Cullen says the bill will be debated in the coming weeks and will be voted on at the end of March.
