Two athletes from Burns Lake are coming back with some hardware from the Special Olympics in Kamloops for snowshoeing.
Vanessa Redwood picked up two gold medals for the 50 and 200 m sprints and a silver for the relay event.
Danny Tress won gold in the 50 m sprint and a silver for the 100 sprint.
Coach Tina Giesbrecht says all of their training has been worth it.
“We started doing spring training last winter and that is when I took them to Kelowna for the qualifiers,” she says. “We’ve continued with sprint and strength training through out the winter this year.”
She adds she is so proud of them and is looking forward to working with them again next season.
