A special road dust advisory is in effect for both Burns Lake and Houston.
A warning was issued by the Ministry of Environment due to the high particles of dust in the area reaching dangerous levels.
The provincial air quality standard says levels have reached 56.5 micrograms per cubic meter over 24 hours which is above the regulatory level of 50 micrograms per cubic meter.
The advisory will be in effect until there is precipitation or dust suppression in the area.
Children, elderly, and those with health issues are asked to avoid high traffic areas and to stay indoors if they don’t need to be outside.
