Houston Road Dust Advisory

The District of Houston is currently under a Road Dust Advisory.

The Ministry of Environment in coordination with Northern Health issued the release due to high air contaminants (dust) reported in the region.

The regulatory limits for air contaminants are 50 micro-grams per cubic meter over 24 hours, however, levels in Houston reached 74.1

Residents of Houston are asked to reduce outdoor activity if at all possible and avoid areas with high traffic until there is some sort of dust suppression in the region. Extra caution should be taken for children, elderly, and those with chronic health issues.
