Burns Lake Dust Advisory

Burns Lake is currently under a Road Dust Advisory.

The Ministry of Environment in coordination with Northern Health issued the release due to a high recorded level of air contaminants (dust) in the area.

The regulatory limits for air contaminants are 50 micro-grams per cubic meter over 24 hours, however, levels in Burns Lake have slightly exceeded safe limits at 52.1.

Residents of Burns Lake are asked to reduce outdoor activity if at all possible until there is some sort of dust suppression in the region.

Extra caution should be taken for children, elderly, and those with chronic health issues.
