A walk to remember the missing and murdered Indigenous women across the country will be held in Smithers tomorrow.
It starts at 10:30 at the corner of Main Street and Highway 16.
Those attending are encouraged to bring their drums and signs.
Molly Wickham from the Northern Society for Domestic Peace says people are also asked to wear red to honour those lost.
“We are hoping people will red in honour of our sisters,” she says. “There is a disproportionate amount of indigenous women that have violence against them. We are really trying to honour our sisters and raise awareness of the issues that put our women at risk.”
Tomorrow also marks the 25th anniversary of raising awareness of missing and murdered women.
