Smithers Daffodil Dash

The fourth annual Daffodil Dash to support the Canadian Cancer Society will be taking place this weekend in Smithers.

The event can be split into multiple different facets, all with the same purpose.

Registration for the dash itself gets underway noon on Sunday at Heritage Park. All members of the community are welcome to attend and take on the obstacle course from 1:30-4.

Those who have been diagnosed with, are in treatment, or have defeated cancer are also invited to the Survivors Luncheon taking place at the Smithers Curling Club Sunday at noon.

A silent auction was held on Facebook from April 15th- 25th and will conclude Sunday at the New Smithers Arena.

A diamond pendant worth over $1200 in memory of Bonnie Carter is also being raffled off. Tickets are available at Smithers Safeway and Jerry’s No Frills.

The draws for prizing will be made at 4 pm on Sunday with all proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Society.

Daffodil Dash representative Grace Kwan says to date, the event has raised nearly $95,000.
