Houston woman wins B.C. Community Achievement Awards

This year’s recipients of the B.C. Community Achievement Awards have been announced and one woman from Houston is on the list.
Sandra Lavallie, who works at Northwest Community College and supports the Houston Link to Learning, Community Futures Nadina and the Houston Community Services Association is one of the provincial winners.
College regional director Regina Saimoto says Lavallie is very deserving of the award.
“She is an amazing resident of the community of Houston, she is so passionate about the work she does and the community she lives in,” she says. “She really connects with people and enables people to reach their potential. She is very passionate about helping people and changing their lives. She is just a phenomenal, dedicated person.”
She will be recognized in a formal presentation ceremony at Government House in Victoria at the end of April.
