Northern Development Initiative Trust has approved 30 thousand dollars in funding for upgrades to the Glenwood Hall.
Hall Secretary Corol Johnson says they have a long list of things the money will be used for, including upgrading the old electrical.
“Another really big item is the kitchen demolition and reconstruction– just by the sound of that you should know how severe it is,” She says. “There was a 60 year cement chimney that had be beaten apart and taken out. Every time they took their jack hammer to it, they’d hit a big rock.”
Johnson says the renovations will help ensure the the facility is fully accessible to people with physical disabilities, as well as improve energy efficiency.
She hopes the work will be completed this spring.
