BC Hydro is planning on turning off the power for about six hours on Sunday in Houston.
Those living south of Highway 16 down Butler Avenue and all side roads including Riverbank and Popular Street, also those on Omineca Cres and Omineca Way including roads south to Dungate Creek Road will be affected from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
BC Hydro is making some improvements and to ensure the safety of their crew, the power must be off.
Community relations coordinator Dave Mosure says they need to replace a power pole as soon as possible or else more damage will likely occur.
To prepare for the outage, turn off lights, unplug electronics and appliances.
Once the power comes back on, BC Hydro is asking that you only plug in what you need so the system does not get overloaded.
