Bulkley Valley Weather Update, May 11th

There is no precipitation in the forecast for the next little bit in the Bulkley Valley, which should make some residents happy.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Greg Walters tells us what we can expect for the coming days.

“Wherever you are in the Bulkley Valley, you won’t see much change in the next couple days. Mainly sunny conditions for today (Friday) around that 20-degree mark and tomorrow (Saturday) much of the same with highs around 22. This will be the trend for roughly the next four or five days.”

Walters says the Bulkley Valley is a bit warmer than expected for this time of year. He says regular temperatures are around 15 degrees, however, we should exceed that by roughly 7-9 degrees heading into the weekend and early next week.

Is there a possibility at all for rain in the foreseeable future? Walters doesn’t think so.

“We have a ridge of high-pressure that’s strengthening over most of the province so that will hold up any systems coming in from the west. This high-pressure system is the reason for mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures, which should keep the rain away. The Bulkley Valley will most likely stay dry until roughly Thursday of next week.”

Walters ensures the public that if you are looking to catch some rays and enjoy outdoor activities, these next few days will make for excellent conditions to do just that.
