The annual McBike and Sport run/walk to support the Smithers Diabetes Society will be taking place this Sunday, May 13th at 10:30 am.
Owner of McBike and Sport Peter Krause says he is glad to bring this initiative back for another year.
“Whether you run or walk, it doesn’t matter, it’s a good way to get out and support a good cause. Last year we had roughly 200 residents take part and raised over $2000. This event is open to all ages and we welcome everyone to come and take part. The run begins Sunday at the McBike and Sport front doors and the track will lead you right back to where you began.”
The cost of registration is:
- $5 for ages 12 and under,
- $10 for ages 12-18,
- and $15 for adults.
Krause says he has a final message for area residents wanting to take part in the event.
“If you haven’t registered already, please try and do so before the event on Sunday. The registration line can be fairly jam-packed on the day of so it’s recommended you try and avoid that. Also, it’s going to be a warm weekend so dress accordingly. We want people to have fun, not overheat.”
