The 2018/2019 SD54 budget will be presented this evening at 7 pm in Houston Secondary’s School Library.
Members of the public are invited to attend and educate themselves on how the district is doing financially.
“It’s a simple way to let people know how the school district is looking,” says SD54 Secretary-Treasurer Dave Margerm ” we’ll talk about the money coming in from the Ministry of Education and how we plan on allocating those funds. We encourage all members of the public to come, take part, and potentially lend input.”
Margerm continued on saying the money coming in this year, is very similar to last.
“We do face a half-a-million dollar reduction in funding protection but that doesn’t concern us. We have planned accordingly in previous years to make sure this wouldn’t impact us significantly. People can expect the same level of programs and service going forward.”
