The Village of Telkwa has issued a release saying that stage 1 water restrictions will begin as of June 1st, 2018 and run until September 15th, 2018 unless otherwise directed by staff.
Due to the Village of Telkwa only having one water reservoir for residential purposes, it is asked that residents follow these restrictions to the best of their abilities. Overuse of water can create complications for firefighters in the region and could potentially lead to a water shortage in the area.
The restrictions will be as follows:
Flowers, shrubs, trees, and gardens – any day between 4 am – 9 am or 7 pm – 10 pm,
Lawns, two days a week between 4 am – 9 am or 7 pm – 10 pm,
Washing of motor vehicles, boats, and RV’s two days a week
Water restriction zones will be as follows:
ZONE 1 Monday and Thursday, Downtown, Tower, and the Bench Area,
ZONE 2 Tuesday and Friday, Cottonwood Flats and Aspen Subdivision,
ZONE 3 Wednesday and Saturday, Woodland Subdivision and BBQ Grounds.
