Cullen's bill to ban supertankers on the north coast defeated

Nathan Cullen’s bill to ban oil tankers on the north coast has been defeated in the House of Commons today.
MP’s voted 140 to 120 against the motion.
The NDP MP for Skeena Bulkley Valley has spent the last ten months touring communities across B.C. to gather support and says he’s disappointed the Conservatives B.C. MP’s voted against it with the rest of the Tories.
“The support we got from all corners of British Columbia, from all across Canada is just humbling,” he says. “I can show you the stacks and stacks of petitions and postcards and emails and tweets that have come in. So while disappointed, there is nothing but resolve and conviction that I am feeling.”
Cullen adds the conversation doesn’t die with the bill and he will be looking into what the next steps are in the near future.
