No stance on pipeline yet from Kitimat council

Kitimat council met last night to discuss the results of the Enbridge pipeline plebiscite on the weekend.

Chief administrative officer, Ron Poole says council hasn’t yet decided to take a stand on the pipeline but a motion to do so was brought forward at the meeting.

He says council will be contacting the federal government about the vote.

“What they have done is they have asked that a letter be written to the federal government asking that the government take into serious consideration the results of the plebiscite.”

Poole says an open meeting next Tuesday will review the motion to take a stand on the project.
