Houston council meets tonight.
Council will discuss awarding the water treatment plant contract to Canadian Western Mechanical for a cost of just over $2.5 million.
Council will be looking at the Event Regulations bylaw to allow council to regulate public events and require permits for events such as trade shows, carnivals, extreme sporting events, parades and protests in order to protect residents, the community or the environment.
Council will also be amending bylaws regarding district fees for services, the sanitary sewer tax bylaw and the water parcel tax bylaw.
Council will also submit for adoption the new five-year financial plan.
The meeting starts at 7pm in council chambers.
