Today is McHappy Day at McDonald’s.
Telkwa resident, Michelle Walcholtz’s son Braxton got sick in 2010 and she says the family stayed at Ronald McDonald House while getting treatment at Children’s Hospital in Vancouver.
“Being at the Ronald McDonald House was convenient and affordable. It’s never a place that you want to visit but going through a circumstance of your child being sick it’s a wonderful place to be.”
Walcholtz says people in B.C. are blessed to have access to Ronald McDonald House when it is needed.
Smithers McDonald’s owner Shane Doodson says today one dollar from every big mac, happy meal and hot beverage will go towards construction of the new, bigger Ronald McDonald House on the Children’s Hospital grounds in Vancouver.
